La tavoletta propriocettiva è uno strumento che serve per educare i recettori meccanici del piede. Vengono utilizzate negli ambiti preventivo e riabilitativo. Importantissime dopo infortuni alla caviglia e anche al ginocchio, perché dopo tali eventi la sensibilità può risultare alterata. Bisogna infatti considerare che una lesione interessa anche i recettori sensoriali e questo determina un’alterazione dei meccanismi di propriocezione.
La propriocezione è la capacità di elaborare le informazioni dei movimenti propri dell’organismo. Questa capacità è fondamentale per un corretto funzionamento dell’apparato locomotore. Importantissima dunque per gli sportivi. Può capitare, soprattutto nelle categorie più basse dove i campi non sono eccezionali, di mettere il piede su una zolla. Questo un potenziale pericolo per la caviglia, ma un soggetto con una buona capacità propriocettiva avrà più probabilità di non infortunarsi.
Suggerisco di utilizzare questi particolari attrezzi prima di ogni allenamento, magari insieme alle classiche posture. Credo che un calciatore serio non si debba limitare agli allenamenti con la squadra, ma debba curare ogni dettaglio. Non servono ore in equilibrio su un piede sopra una tavoletta, sono sufficienti 5-10 minuti prima di ogni allenamento.
Le tavolette propriocettive non servono a fare forza come qualche preparatore crede erroneamente. Sono appunto uno strumento utile ad allenare la propriocezione, niente di più. Proporre esercizi di instabilità nelle sedute del martedì o mercoledì, che dovrebbero essere dedicate ad altre abilità più intense, lo ritengo un errore da non sottovalutare.
